A long time ago, Colombian painting has been inspired by the
Spanish religious paintings, the largest representative of
Colombian painting is Gregorio Vasquez de Arce y Ceballos, who
lived in the seventeenth century. The Museum of Colonial Art of
Bogotá has a large collection of his works. In the '30 Colombian
artists broke away and develop their own style. The painting is
very dynamic in Colombia and the young artists express through
their art the pain but also the beauty of their country.
